william young

William Young graduated with a Bachelor of Engineering with Honours from the University of New South Wales in 1970. Young worked in the transport industry in the United Kingdom, Germany and across Australia. He received a Graduate Diploma in Management (1997) and MBA (1999) from Deakin University, and a Master of Science (1990) from Monash University. He joined Monash in 1982 after completing his PhD within the Department of Civil Engineering. Professor Young has worked at Monash University for 36 years and was also an Associate Editor of the international journal ‘Transportation’ for 12 years.

Young has a variety of international experience; having held visiting positions at Oxford, Nanyang, Karlsruhe, Michigan State and Hong Kong Universities and worked on several international research projects with academics from Hong Kong, the UK, Japan, Sweden, Germany and Indonesia. His research interests include land-use/transport/environment interaction, parking, engineering management and education.
