Karol Morsztyn

Karol Morsztyn was born in Vienna in 1914 and became a professor in the Department of Electrical Machines, Technical University of Silesia, Poland in 1954. He worked for several years as Director of the Central Design Institute of Electrical Machines, Katowice in Poland, then as Director of the Institute of Electrical Engineering Sciences, Warsaw before becoming Head of the Research and Development Section, Associated Electrical Industries Australia.

Morsztyn joined the Department of Electrical Engineering in 1964 as Senior Lecturer, becoming Associate Professor in 1969 and Professor in 1971. He served as Head of Department for the calendar years 1972, 1974, 1976 and 1978 in between Doug Lampard’s years.
