John Sheridan

John Sheridan completed his Bachelor of Engineering at the University of Melbourne, majoring in Mechanical Engineering and graduating in 1973. He started at CSIRO working on solar energy. Sheridan worked for CSIRO for 12 years. During this time he also completed his Masters and PhD at Monash University. Sheridan decided on Monash because of the excellent masters program. When he came to undertake his PhD he was able to collaborate with CSIRO, his area of research being in Heat and Mass transfer. After graduating with his PhD in 1989, Sheridan was offered a teaching position at Monash within the Department of Mechanical and Aeronautical Engineering, so he left CSIRO and still continues teaching in 2011. John Sheridan is currently Deputy Dean of the Faculty.
